ACCOUNT MANAGER - EVENT HIRE SALES

CASUAL / FLEXIBLE WORK-FROM-HOME STRUCTURE


Northampton Events is seeking an energetic and self-motivated Account Manager to join our growing team.

We are a leading event hire company and supplier of premium, on-trend event furniture and decor in Tropical North Queensland. Northampton Events serves a significant portion of the TNQ wedding market, as well as a wide range of high-profile corporate clients and local venues for corporate, private and public events.

As an Account Manager, your role will be to work closely with our clients in a relationship management, sales and planning capacity, to help bring their wedding and event visions to life and exceed their service and quality expectations.

The role is available as a flexible, work-from-home style arrangement, and would be perfect for someone studying events management, or perhaps someone with a passion for events looking for a flexible and/or secondary employment opportunity. 

Your Role and Responsibilities will consist of:

  • Taking and responding to inbound client enquiries from new and existing clients
  • Working with a wide of range of clients including the general public, wedding & event planners and stylists, and venue and event managers 
  • Consulting with the client via phone and/or email to understand their event hire needs 
  • Attending site inspections with clients to properly understand the event space and hire needs 
  • Conducting Warehouse and Showroom visits with clients 
  • Developing Event Theming Concepts, Floor Plans and Mood Boards to assist the client with visualising the Event Setup
  • Understanding and suggesting additional products from the inventory that may fit the client’s Event Brief
  • Building a Hire Quote and working with the client through to Final Approval
  • Understanding and estimating the labour, transport and logistics aspects of the Hire Order 
  • Liaising with our Warehouse & Logistics Team to coordinate deliveries and collections 


Skills and Attributes you will possess:

  • A passion for the events industry, event furniture and styling
  • An exceptional eye for current and emerging event furniture and styling trends
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills 
  • Place a high important on service and client satisfaction 
  • Confident and willing to learn various software systems
  • Able to self-motivate and work unsupervised 


How the role is structured & remunerated 

  • This role is a performance-based role, with remuneration structured around event sales and revenue generated
  • Client communications via email and phone can be conducted either remotely or from our Warehouse and Showroom. 
  • Client Appointments and Warehouse Viewings are conducted at our Warehouse and Showroom. You will require your own transport to attend these meetings.
  • Site inspections are conducted as/when needed, you will require your own transport to attend these meetings.

OPERATIONS, WAREHOUSE & LOGISTICS MANAGER

Northampton Events is seeking an energetic and self-motivated Operations, Warehouse & Logistics Manager to join our growing team.
 
We are a leading event hire company and supplier of premium, on-trend event furniture and decor in Tropical North Queensland. Northampton Events serves a significant portion of the TNQ wedding market, as well as a wide range of high-profile corporate clients and local venues for corporate, private and public events.
 
As the Warehouse and Logistics Manager, your role will be to manage and maintain the warehouse inventory, coordinate and manage deliveries and collections, and coordinate and manage delivery staff. You will work closely with the Account Management Team and Senior Management to ensure that all hire orders are executed in line with client expectations and the warehouse is effectively maintained and organised.
 
The role is available as a casual position to begin with, with minimum guaranteed hours plus variable hours based on the volume of delivery/collection work on a weekly basis. The role would be perfect for someone with an event logistics and/or warehousing and road transport background.

Your Role and Responsibilities will consist of:
 
Delivery Work

  • Operating delivery vehicles to transport furniture and other event hire items to and from a wide variety of locations around Cairns and surrounds
  • Prepping of orders at the warehouse, loading into delivery vehicle, unpacking at delivery locations (and in reverse order for collections)
  • Ensuring inventory items are packed safely and protected from damage at all times during transport and storage
  • Checking off items when collected and identifying missing or damaged items at collection
  • Unpacking of collected hire orders at the warehouse, cleaning and restocking of items in their appropriate place in the warehouse
  • Reporting on missing and damaged items upon return to the warehouse and logging for follow up/repair
  • Maintaining a professional and friendly attitude with clients during deliveries and collections (you are the face of our business!)
  • Maintaining a professional appearance in uniform at all times


Warehouse & Logistics Management

  • Creating Delivery Staff Rosters by interpreting the upcoming jobs/workload, and ensuring that appropriate (but not excessive) staffing is booked
  • Communicating and coordinating with delivery staff
  • Maintaining and cleaning the hire inventory to a high standard:
    • Conducting basic repairs
    • Paint touch-ups
    • Arranging outsourced repairs/spray painting where appropriate
  • Keeping the warehouse organised and clean
  • Inventory & warehouse Innovation (devising quicker and more efficient storage, packing and transport processes, more space efficient storage and packing methods, etc)
  • Understanding and estimating the labour, transport and logistics aspects of the Hire Order, and cross-checking these costs on Hire Orders with the Account Management Team, and raising any discrepancies that might be identified
  • Liaising with our Account Management Team to coordinate deliveries and collections 
  • Keeping delivery vehicles clean and tidy, reporting and maintenance or repair issues to Senior Management

 
Skills and Attributes you will possess:

  • Open Car Drivers License (LR and/or MR + forklift preferred but not essential)
  • Generally strong and fit, able to lift heavy items
  • General handyperson skills, experience with standard hand and power tools
  • General experience with furniture maintenance/minor repairs, painting/staining
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Able to self-motivate and work effectively unsupervised 
  • Place a high importance on service and client satisfaction 
  • Confident and willing to learn various software systems

 
How the role is structured & remunerated 

  • This is a casual role with a minimum guaranteed hours component, and variable hours component (subject to volume of delivery work from week to week)
  • The role will be paid at the relevant Award with casual and other relevant loadings
