Real Wedding -- Damian & David -- Cairns
A Southern Italian Soirée and heart-warming love story
Damian and David first met at a party in the most romantic city in the world: Paris. It was the autumn of 2014 and David was entering his second year of university, studying to be a neuropsychologist. Damian, meanwhile, was a makeup artist, making a name for himself in the fashion world.
After feeling sparks on their first encounter, the two arrived at lunch a few days later, with both men saying that their lives changed forever on that day.
Damian proposed while the couple was taking a helicopter ride out towards the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns, and David followed suit, also getting down on one knee with his beloved.

The Theme. The time then came for Damian and David to begin planning their dream wedding. As the pair both had Italian origins, they decided that a little touch of Italy would be just right for the big day.
They also shared a love of family, so wanted their wedding to feel cozy and warm, rather than getting too flashy or fancy.
Their plans changed a little along the way, however, as their original plans for a homely, 60-guest get-together swelled up to a 250-person celebration as time went by, but even as more guests were added to the list, they retained the same core themes of Italy and warmth.
"After feeling sparks fly on their first encounter, both men said on that day their lives changed forever."
The Planning
For Damian and David, one of the biggest challenges of planning their wonderful wedding was coping with the logistical aspect of putting together such a celebration and getting in touch with so many different local suppliers to find all the furniture, style items, food, and other essentials to make their day complete.
There were many aspects that the pair hadn't even taken into account like organising their own water and electricity suppliers for their warehouse venue, but they found some trusted suppliers and could rely on family to help along the way.
The Big Day
The couple said their vows before a backdrop of lush vegetation before a ride in a classic car and a stroll along the beach. Then, they set off to their venue, where photos of their story hung on the wall and rich wooden tables basked in the ambient lighting.
There, Damian and David begin their lives together, surrounded by family on all sides. With great food, beautiful style pieces, and even a fun-filled drag medley too, this wedding was certainly one to remember.
